Definitions

There are a lot of concepts and titles that will be bandied about on this blog. Some of them might have multiple meanings or interpretations or be terms that are unfamiliar to more than just a few. Since I'm usually after a specific application of the words I choose, I wanted to put a page where the more important, or more uncommon, ones can be reviewed for the exact definition I'm intending by their use. Definitions for words throughout the posts that are designated with an asterisk (*) can be found here.

Apologetics -1 : systematic argumentative discourse in defense (as of a doctrine) 2 : a branch of theology devoted to the defense of the divine origin and authority of Christianity (source: Merriam-Webster.com)
Erika's note: informally, I've always understood this to be the study of "why we believe what we believe". Learning what it is that we actually believe and the reasoning behind that belief.

Holistic - relating to or concerned with wholes or with complete systems rather than with the analysis of, treatment of, or dissection into parts; holistic medicine attempts to treat both the mind and the body (source: Merriam-Webster.com)
