Social H&W

Because it's true that no man (or woman) is an island.

This page wasn't a part of my initial scope for this reboot but over the last few days I've realized how very much my health and wellness also depends on the relationships I have with those around me. The relationships I was born into, those that occurred almost without effort, those I must choose to maintain on a daily basis, those that I severed at small or great cost, those that I mourn the unwanted loss of. I cannot maintain my wholeness if I allow the relationships around me to, rather than encourage or support me, syphon off pieces of myself -my confidence, my joy, my peace, my compassion, my worth, my understanding or any other vital part of what I need to be me. And more often than not that prevention has to happen from within - because it's been my experience that telling people what I think they should do, regardless of the reason or situation, rarely works...

'No Man is an Island'
No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as any manner of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
